アフガニスタンで増加し続けている自爆テロ事件で、実行犯の６割以上が身体障害者だったことが、カブール大学医学部のルサフ・ラドガリ准教授（３２）の調査でわかった。障害者の多くが地雷や不発弾の爆発で手足を失った住民とみられ、武装勢力タリバンが、社会的弱者の障害者を自爆犯として利用している実態が明らかになった。

　准教授は２年前から、カブールを中心に自爆テロの実行犯の遺体８０体を独自に検分。うち６５％に当たる５２体が、手や足、指などが自爆前から欠損している身体障害者だった。

　准教授は現場に残された義足や歩行補助具の流通ルートを調べ、うち１件は０６年、カブールの援助団体が中部ロガール州で地雷被害に遭った男性に贈ったものであったことも突き止めた。

　タリバンは「米軍の空爆による犠牲者の遺族が、（志願して）自爆している」と主張している。准教授は「手足などを失い失業して貧困に陥った障害者が、家族の生活を保障するなどと口約束されて、自爆している可能性がある」と指摘する。
